I listened to Brene’ Brown this AM, TED talk on shame. She said there was something in her that wanted to remain under the radar, to remain small… Yep, that’s shame.
I’ve seen God’s greatness, but shame causes me to shrink back at times. Am I really good enough to speak, to minister to have God within me. Am I good enough to take Him to the world around me? He’s given me a message. 5 years worth of studying on His finished work, HE has been my teacher, but instead of speaking out what I know to be true, I sometimes cower because of negative words spoken over me by others and myself.. “You’re in grave error, who do you think you are? Why would God choose you?”
But you see, he has and I feel a bit like Jeremiah of late. I have so much to say and so very few places to share it… And sometimes even when I have places to share, I write myself out of the equation. Really what do I have that others don’t?
I’ll tell you what I have, what you have.
You have a story, you have a place, you have something that God placed in you for those around you. You have a way about you, you have a piece of HIS heart that is meant to be given to the world around you. Don’t let others around you speak in such a way that you doubt the gift he’s given you. This world is so full of RELIGION and so void of true grace and true righteousness. The kind of righteousness that comes from HIM alone and not your works. It’s the kind of righteousness that few people want because its a place of deep trust and belief in the Father alone, something that we have NO control over.
If I have my list of things to do and am a good little girl for the day, I can check it off and say, I made the mark. I’m in control. If it is His righteousness, then I have to trust that He indeed is able to do what I cannot, make me righteous, and I am no longer in control. Scary stuff.
Romans 10: 3 says For I know that although they are deeply devoted to God, they are unenlightened and since they’ve ignored the righteousness God gives, wanting instead to be acceptable to God because of their own works, they’ve refused to submit to God’s faith-righteousness. For the Christ is the end of the law. And because of him, GOD has transferred his PERFECT righteousness to all who believe.
So today my friend, rest in HIM. Rest in the PERFECT righteousness that your Father has transferred to you. (an amazing gift) You do not need to live in that place of shame, under the law, anymore.
You can trust in HIS finished work, that what HE did for you is truly enough for you to be all that HE created you to be.
MAY ALL OF HIS DREAMS COME TRUE FOR YOU!!
Love y’all Cin
